These Sweet Potato Fries are a healthy and tasty alternative to traditional fries. Sliced sweet potatoes are tossed in melted coconut oil and seasoned with pink Himalayan salt, black pepper, and optional smoked paprika or chili powder for an extra kick. Baked until golden and crispy on the outside, they offer a naturally sweet and savoury flavour. Perfect as a side dish to burgers, salads, or as a snack, these fries are easy to make and packed with nutrients

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized sweet potato

  • 2 tsp coconut oil (melted to liquid)

  • Pink Himalayan salt

  • Black pepper

  • A dusting of smoked paprika or chili powder (optional seasoning)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.  Peel and slice sweet potato into desired fry shaped pieces.
  2. Put sweet potatoes in a large bowl with the oil and seasoning, ensuring all of the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.
  3. Pour potatoes onto a baking tray lined with grease proof or baking paper.  Bake for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, or until browned on the outside.
